Fortune Magazine covers the top 500 private and public sector companies in the US in more than 20 different sectors since 1955. It has long been the method of choice for figuring out a company’s rating based on factors like high revenue, enormous net income, and asset ownership.
The Fortune 100 Companies list is updated annually. The current list is the 68th edition of the Fortune 500 ranking with more than $33.20 trillion market cap, $16.1 trillion in revenue, and $1.8 trillion in profit.

What is Fortune 100?
The Fortune 500 list, which is published by the American Fortune magazine, ranks the 500 largest public and private firms in terms of revenue. The initial top 100 businesses on this list, are known as the Fortune 100, and these companies are the most profitable & successful businesses.
Qualifications for the Fortune 100
Did you know that from 1955 to 1994, Fortune magazine only included businesses in a select few industries, such as mining, manufacturing, and energy production? They also release lists for specific industries, such as the top 100 mining businesses.
However, after 1994, they increased the minimum required income and expend their criteria to Fortune 500 businesses. Additionally, magazines do not list foreign companies excluding international business.
